This week PPAC was honored to be part of a one-of-a-kind celebration in Sacramento – a convening of the best and brightest minds who want to redefine what it means to win like a girl.
More than 100 women who work in government, politics and policy gathered for a #WinLikeAGirl reception. They came from both sides of the aisle to celebrate each other’s achievements and to recognize women power drives much of the work being done in Sacramento.
- Women like Kathy Kneer, PPAC’s president and CEO, who with our coalition partners, successfully fought for California’s FamilyPACT program, a model for the nation.
- Women like Dana Williamson, formerly of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, who serves as Cabinet Secretary to Gov. Jerry Brown.
- Women like Shawnda Westly and Cynthia Bryant, executive directors of California Democratic Party and California Republican Party respectively, who organized the event.
Then there’s Anne Gust Brown, Jodi Hicks, Shannon Smith Crowley, Robin Swanson, Kathy Dresslar, Yvonne Walker -- the list of smart, savvy and hard working women goes on an on.
If you want to learn more about this event and the leaders behind it, check out the piece they penned on CalNewsroom.com blog: “What do John Burton and Jim Brulte Agree on? What do John Burton and Jim Brulte Agree on? California is full of powerful women doing great work.”
