Annually, Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California tracks and creates a report that shows how members of the California legislature voted on bills important to the people served by Planned Parenthood health centers.
Women, men and teens trust the quality health care services provided through Planned Parenthood’s 115 health centers and Planned Parenthood trusts that patients make the right decisions for their own healthcare. Not everyone agrees with that approach, but thankfully the vast majority of the members of the California legislature do.
The 2015 PPAC Legislative Scorecard shows once again that the vast majority of both houses of the legislature strongly support PPAC’s legislative agenda to protect reproductive health, women’s health and rights, advance sexual health education, and provide access to affordable and quality health care.
In fact, five of PPAC’s top priority bills passed the legislature and were signed by Governor Brown, including three sponsored/co-sponsored bills. Despite the political attacks we faced this year, our legislative allies stood strong with Planned Parenthood and made it resoundingly clear that California will not stand for efforts to vilify Planned Parenthood health centers and the nearly one million patients served each year.
It’s important to remember that the actions of our elected officials matter to the lives of California women and families. The scorecard shows that. How did your elected official score? View the 2015 Assembly Scorecard and the 2015 Senate Scorecard to find out!
