Hundreds join Planned Parenthood for Cocktails for a Cause
Planned Parenthood pinked up Sacramento Monday night with its first Cocktails for a Cause – a networking event for young professionals in the State Capitol.
More than 200 women and men attended the evening event held at LowBrau in Midtown. They were treated to signature cocktails like Pretty Ricky and Dirty Laundry.
Several legislators popped by to show their support for Planned Parenthood including:
- Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson
- Senator Marty Block
- Assemblymember Richard Bloom
- Assemblymember Matt Dababneh
- Assemblymember Bill Dodd
- Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia
- Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian
One highlight from the evening was a choreographed dance to Uptown Funk, performed by staff from Planned Parenthood’s statewide office – led by party organizer Erica Root. Even Kathy Kneer, our President and CEO, threw down some smooth moves.
Following the dance Legislative Director Christina Romero welcomed the crowd and introduced Kneer who emphasized that although we live in a state with a long track record for supporting women’s health, there are still efforts today to restrict access to reproductive health in areas like El Centro and the Central Valley. She emphasized the importance of taking action and thanked the crowd for their support of Planned Parenthood.
