Let’s Work Together to Prevent and Detect Cervical Cancer!
Every year, about 13,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with cervical cancer, and about 4,000 American women die of the disease. January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s an excellent opportunity to remember to get screened for the disease!
ACTION: Share a screening reminder with your friends and family on social media!

The good news is that cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers: when caught early, the five-year survival rate is nearly 100 percent. Regular cervical cancer screenings and preventive care such as the HPV Vaccine are the keys to combating cervical cancer.
Last year, Planned Parenthood health centers provided nearly one million Pap tests, which identified about 93,000 women who may be at risk of developing cervical cancer. Contact your local Planned Parenthood health center to schedule a checkup, and remind your friends and family about the importance of screening. Together we can spread the word and keep our families and communities healthy.
