Coalitions Build Strenth to Protect Women's Health
There has been a whirlwind of buzz in the last few weeks about the Affordable Care Act and recent decisions by the White House which expand access to affordable contraception. The White House's compromise strikes a respectful balance between religious interests and individual conscious and personal relgious freedom.
But check out who spoke at a House of Representatives panel on contraception coverage. Where are the voices of women? We hope you'll add your voice to the discussion by signing our online petition to "Tell Congress: Stop trying to block women's access to birth control."
Did you know that Representative Issa from California was the person who selected the witnesses for this panel? Feel free to tell him how you feel about his refusal to allow women to speak on behalf of the 99% of women who use birth control at some point in their lives. His DC office can be reached at 202-225-3906 and his California district office can be reached at 760-599-5000.
With all these recent challenges to women's health care access, a new Coalition to Protect Women's Health has formed (and Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a part!). You can follow the coalition's updates on Facebook.
