SACRAMENTO – Volunteers, staff, and advocates for Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California public health policies numbering more than 450 converged on the State Capitol today to show their support for improving birth control access (SB 999), telehealth (SB 960), and privacy (AB 1671).
About the bills:
Participants travelled from as far as San Diego and Eureka for this “Day of Action” at the State Capitol. Featured keynote speaker was Renee Bracey Sherman, author and activist, who spoke engagingly about the importance of sharing abortion stories and shared her personal story.
Activists in hot pink T-shirts are converging on the South side of the Capitol where they were be joined by many supportive legislators, including Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez, Assemblymember Christina Garcia, and Assemblymember Ian Calderon, among others.
