On May 6, we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Community Action Fund of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties at the Hilton Costa Mesa. The event drew 420 Planned Parenthood supporters and raised funds that will directly impact our ability to support candidates that value comprehensive sex education, access to affordable reproductive health services, and women’s ability to make their own health care decisions.
At the luncheon, keynote speaker Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom spoke candidly about the advances women have made at all levels of society, as well as challenges that remain. And we were proud to honor remarkable leaders in our community: Tricia Nichols for her steadfast leadership in establishing the Community Action Fund 25 years ago – as well as the Orange County Women’s Health Project and its Teen Reproductive Health Task Force for standing up for comprehensive sexual health education by advocating for AB 329, the California Healthy Youth Act.
A big thank you to all our advocates who made this event a great success!
