PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACTION FUND ANNOUNCES ENDORSED AND RATED CANDIDATES
Access To Contraception, Preventive Health Care for Women Critical Issue In June 5th Primary Election
The Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific Action Fund is pleased to announce its endorsed and rated candidates for the June primary election. Click here to view our Voter Guide.
Endorsements are made in races where candidates meet the extremely high standard of qualification to earn the pro-choice vote based upon their 100% pro-choice commitment on the issues, their demonstrated viability as a candidate, and their leadership on women’s health care and reproductive rights. Pro-choice incumbents seeking reelection to the same office who have consistently supported these issues are always endorsed.
In races where an endorsement is not made, 100% pro-choice ratings may be made when multiple candidates demonstrate a shared commitment to women’s health care and reproductive rights.
The Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific Action Fund encourages voters to consider supporting our endorsed candidates in races where an endorsement is made, or selecting from the rated candidates where ratings are offered.
“An elected official who stands strong with Planned Parenthood can make all the difference in the health of a community,” said Heather Saunders Estes, CEO. “An elected official who does not support Planned Parenthood, or who wants to politicize our services, can restrict access to family planning and preventive health care, which in turn hurts the community,” Estes continued.
The Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific Action Fund is a local, nonpartisan, community-based 501(c)(4) organization that engages in legislative, educational, and electoral activity including lobbying and independent expenditure campaigns. It is the political arm of Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific, which provides preventive health care services to nearly 100,000 clients in 17 northern California counties, including life saving breast and cervical cancer screening, birth control, prenatal care, STD testing and treatment, abortion, sex education and more.
