There is a lot at stake for women’s health this year, and we need your help to elect leaders we can count on.  Please join us in supporting the below candidates—and email ppap@pp-la.org or fill out the online volunteer form to find out how you can get involved!

Sandra Fluke for Senate District 26

If you’ve been a supporter of Planned Parenthood and women’s health, you’re probably familiar with Sandra Fluke: the woman who stood up to Congress and demanded access to birth control.  Despite the tidal wave of slurs and disparaging remarks that followed her courageous actions, Sandra kept fighting and used her public platform to increase support for women’s health nationally.

Now it’s our turn to stand with her!  Sandra is running for Senate District 26, and needs our help.  If elected, we know that Sandra will be a strong voice for women’s health and a true champion we can count on.  Email ppap@pp-la.org learn more about how you can get her elected.

Al Muratsuchi for Assembly District 66

In 2012, you helped us elect Al Muratsuchi to represent Assembly District 66.  Al ran a tough race against an opponent who wants to defund Planned Parenthood services and make abortion illegal.  Since getting elected, Al has consistently stood up for women—he’s fought to improve access to birth control, life-saving cancer screenings, and other essential health care.

Unfortunately, now Al is up against David Hadley—another candidate who does not trust women to make their own decisions and who is not 100% supportive of a woman’s access to safe, legal abortion.  Women deserve better than this.  We need leaders like Al Muratsuchi, who will fight for a woman’s right to make her own personal medical decisions -- without judgment and interference from politicians.

We need your help to re-elect Al—email ppap@pp-la.org to find out how you can make a difference.

Sheila Kuehl for Los Angeles County Supervisor District 3

Sheila Kuehl is no stranger to politics—with years of experience, she has a proven record that demonstrates her absolute commitment to protecting and expanding access to reproductive health care.  Sheila has been a champion for sex education, and even authored California’s current law!  Because of her, students receive unbiased, accurate information about abstinence, birth control, and sexually transmitted diseases.

A long-time advocate of improving our health care system, we know Sheila will lead L.A. County to implement the Affordable Care Act in a way that works for our communities.  Join us in supporting Sheila for Supervisor—email ppap@pp-la.org to get involved.
